1/2 Day Tours:Temperance River Gem Tour
On this half-day tour, we will paddle into the mouth of the Temperance River to view the falls, gorge and search for agates along some of the Lake Superior beaches. Learn how the river was formed and what treasures abound here. When heading out onto the “big lake” we will travel in 2-person kayaks and we will be wearing wetsuits. Minimum age is 14. Wilderness Tour A fun and relaxing tour for the nature lover. This quiet wilderness lake located in the Superior National Forest is a great place for wildlife sightings like moose, eagles and loons. This tour is a great introduction to kayaking for beginners and also allows us to accommodate people who would like to expand their knowledge in paddling by trying out a single kayak. Fun for all ages and abilities.
Treasure Hunt Tour Geocashing by kayak puts a new and exciting twist in finding “the Stash”. We will head to a wilderness lake, go through the basics of kayaking and how to use a GPS and then we will be off in search of the treasure. Fun for all ages and abilities.
1/2 Tour General Information - Time: 9-noon or 1-4- Arrive at our shop 15 minutes before the tour. - Cost: $45/person and includes round trip transportation from our shop and all equipment needed - Advance reservations required, credit card will hold your spot. - Minimum Age: 14 years for Gem Tour Only. Wilderness Tour or Treasure Hunt tours can accommodate younger kids What to Bring - Swimsuits (for Gem Tour Only) - we wear wetsuits while out on Lake Superior and swimsuits/shorts are the best to wear under them. All other tours are welcome to wear swimsuits if they would like to take a dip in the lake. - Shoes that can get wet- Your feet will get wet stepping in and out of the water to get in and out of the kayak. - Set of warm clothes: Weather can change quickly, be prepared for cool weather with a warm insulating top and jacket. - Water and Snacks: Bring 1 bottle of water/person and any snacks you might want while you are out. - Camera and/or Binoculars- We have dry bags for these items so they are safe to bring. - Suntan lotion, sunglasses and a hat are a must to have while on the water….even if it is cloudy.
Full Day Tours: Paddle to Palisade Tour The view from atop Palisade Head with its beautiful shoreline features is quite breathtaking; the view from Lake Superior as seen from a kayak can be equally dramatic. Palisade Head rises more than two hundred feet above the lake and is home to the peregrine falcon. Paddle through beautiful sea caves, over gigantic boulders with a view relatively few have seen. Split Rock Light House Tour Paddle along magnificent shoreline, rugged cliffs and cobblestone beaches. We'll paddle beneath the lighthouse and learn some of its history. We will also paddle over the Madeira ship wreck and learn how she came to grief Full Day Tour General Information - Time: 9am-3pm- Arrive at our shop at 8:45. Meeting us at the tour location is an option if it is closer to your lodging. - Cost: $95/person and includes round trip transportation from our shop, all equipment needed, and lunch. - Minimum age is 14 years. - Participants should be in good physical condition. - Two person kayaks will be used. - Advance reservations required, credit card will hold your spot. - 4 People Minimum for a tour to go.

More 1/2 Day Tours: Ripples and Reflections This tour is for those who enjoy photography and are looking for a new and unique perspective. Kayaks put you at eye level and provide an excellent vehicle to approach subjects without making a sound. We will head to a wilderness lake with our tandem kayaks, which provide a wide and stable platform perfect for this activity. This tour is for anyone who would like to spend some time on the water taking pictures.

Kayaking Skills Course This is an opportunity for paddlers looking to improve their overall experience on the water. Learn how to become more comfortable and relaxed in a kayak plus gain confidence, stamina and finesse. Our knowledgeable instructor will go through proper sitting position, forward and backward strokes, sweep stokes, turning, edging, bracing and wet exit.

Custom Tours: We are able to provide ½ and full day custom tours to groups, families, or private parties. We will work with you to select a location and customize the tour to fit your group. Pricing will depend upon the number of participants and location.
Cancellation Policy: - $20/Person for ½ day tour and $40/person for full day tour fee will be charged for cancellations within 48 hours of the tour and for no shows. - No fees will be charged for tour canceled ahead of time due to wind or weather. - No refunds for tours that need to be shorten due to changing weather. - Please note that light rain, fog or cool weather does not cancel a trip. Customers find paddling in the rain more pleasurable then they thought, since they are well protected from the elements by the kayak, lifejacket, spray skirt, rain jacket and hat.
